The Legal Process Question Nobody Is Answering

What You Can Actually Do
WiFi Motion is opt in and off by default, so the first move is simply to check. Open the Xfinity app, find WiFi Motion under the gateway settings, and confirm it is disabled if you never turned it on. Check it again after firmware updates and after any account change, because opt in status is a setting, and settings drift.
The stronger move is structural: stop renting the sensor. Owning your own modem and router removes the vendor's ability to ship you a sensing feature you did not ask for, and it is the same lever discussed when the FCC moved against foreign made routers. Whoever controls the firmware controls what the radio reports.
If you host guests, sublet, run a home office with clients or share a house, say out loud that the feature exists before you enable it.
